Estral V.
Tennant 91 of Sistersville died Jan.1, 2009.at Cademn Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept.
13, 1917 in
Antioch. Ohio, a daughter of
the late Clarence and Maudene Price Stine. Estral
worked at G.C. Murphy Company, Stracher Furniture,
and was a cook at Sistersville General Hospital. She was a member of the Oxford
Street Church of Christ, Civil Air Patrol, Steeping Stones, and the Historical
Society. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband
Glenn H. Tennant in 2002; two brothers Ralph and Wayne Stine and two sisters
Fern Wilson and Irene Ott. She is survived by two
sons, Ronald Dean Tennant of Greensboro N.C. And Dwain Scott Tennant of Benton
Ark; two daughters, Glenna Jean Fletcher of Spartanburg, S.C. and Ava Nadine Mason of Greensburg Pa.; a sister Wilda Smith of Weirton; 12 grandchildren, 19 great
grandchildren. Friends called on Saturday from 6-8 pm. at Myers Funeral Home in
Sistersville, graveside services were held Sunday at 2pm. with Evangelist Jerry
Toothman officiating. Burial in Stender Cemetery in Paden City.
Edna Marie Thomas
Edna Marie
Thomas, 73, of Walnut Fork Community, Lima, departed this life Saturday
July 19, 2008
at her home. She was born August 14, 1934 in Tyler County a daughter of the late Earnest M.
and Martha Dailey Thomas. Edna was a homemaker and a member of the Muddy Creek
Church of Christ, Middlebourne. In addition to her parents she was preceded in
death by two brothers; Clifford and Clarence Thomas. A
brother in law Landis Lemasters. Edna is
survived by a daughter Barbara Mead of Walnut Fork, Lima. A brother Guy
Thomas of Walnut Fork, Lima. Two sisters; Freda Richards and her
husband Edwin of Middlebourne and Mary Lou Lemasters
of Sistersville. Two granddaughters; Renea White and
her husband Josh of Middlebourne and Jessica Mead of Walnut Fork, Lima. Two great
grandchildren; Alexis and Abigail White. Several
nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Furbee
Funeral Home, Route 18, Tyler 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm Monday where services will be
held 1:00 pm Tuesday with Evangelist Jonathan Kerns officiating. Interment Walnut Fork Cemetery, Lima.
Richard A. Thompson
Richard A.
Thompson, 77, of Blue Run Community, Middlebourne, departed this life Sunday,
September 7, 2008 in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. He was born in Weirton, WV March 18, 1931 a son of the late Homer and Helen Rebbie Thompson. Richard was a retired employee of Packard
Electric, Warren, OH with 34 years of service. He was a
protestant. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four
brothers; Glenn, Robert, Carl and George Thompson. Two
sisters; Martha Martin and Dorpha Gorby.
Richard is survived by his wife Doris Gatrell
Thompson. A son David A. Thompson, Middlebourne. Two
Daughters Verneta Young ( Richard
) and Marla Speerstra ( Fred ) all of Leavittsburg, OH. Six
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A brother
Harley Thompson, Weirton. Three sisters; Ramona Wymer and Mary Bincent ( Jerry )
all of Mesa, AZ, Audra Cooke ( Bud ) of Yale, MI. Friends will be received at Furbee Funeral Home, Route 18, Tyler, WV Thursday 7:00 -
9:00 pm where services will be held Friday 2:00 pm with Reverend Louise Baker
officiating. Interment in Beechwood Cemetery, Alma, WV.
Iantha (Ashcraft) Trough
Mrs. Iantha Ashcraft Trough, 99, of York, SC formerly of Morgantown, WV died Wednesday,
January 1, 2008 at home. She was born near Wallace, WV a daughter of the late Robert and
Lucinda Bartholomew Ashcraft. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law
Crystal Lee and Thomas Estlack of Morgantown, WV;
daughter-in-law Mary Walters Trough of York, SC; granddaughter and husband
Sharon Ann and Jim Brock of Wellsville, OH; granddaughter and husband Kathy and
Chester McHenry of York, SC; granddaughter and fiancee
Joyce Majecic and Michael Mei
of Fowler, OH; grandson and wife Marcus Whitney and Stephanie Estlack of Morgantown, WV; granddaughter and husband Susan
Christine and Don Riggs of Morgantown, WV; six great grandchildren and three great
great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
husband of 60 years, Reverend Marcus Trough, Methodist Minister in the WV
Conference; son Marcus Trough, Jr.; a sister Lizzy
Ashcraft; a brother and sister-in-law Clark and Ila
Ashcraft. Family and friends will be received at the Furbee
Funeral Home, Tyler City Community, Alma, WV Friday, January 4,
2007 6:00 -
8:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held at the Christian Church in Center Point, WV Saturday, January 5,
2008 at 10:00 am. Friends and family will be
received at the church 9:00 am until time of the service.Reverend Aslam Barkat and Reverend Donald Thomas will preside over the
funeral service.
